Samir Kumar Inducted into Marquis Who’s Who

TULSA, Okla. — Samir Kumar, a technology consulting visionary and business entrepreneur, has been inducted into Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Drawing on 25 years of experience in information technology (IT), Mr. Kumar is recognized for his visionary leadership as president and cofounder of Cloudaction, an IT services firm specializing in strategic consulting, integration, implementation and continuity services. Since founding Cloudaction in 2014, Mr. Kumar has worked tirelessly to elevate the company — as well as its proprietary smart integration platform, actionHub™ — as a leader in IT consulting services worldwide by building its global profitability and gaining the trust and respect of its many clients.

Mr. Kumar has devoted his entire academic and professional career to honing his expertise in business IT. After graduating in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology/Roorkee, he accepted a position as assistant consultant, and then project lead, for Tata Consultancy Services. His upward career trajectory continued at IBM, where he served as IT applications development manager from 2002 to 2009, winning an IBM Bravo Award, and subsequently at boutique IT consulting firm Stonebridge, where he established a highly successful IT service management business unit from the ground up, serving as director from 2009 to 2012 and vice president from 2013 to 2014. A credentialed leader in his field, Mr. Kumar holds PMP and ITIL® certifications.

Through all his successes, Mr. Kumar has not forgotten his humble beginnings. He was born and raised in rural India to loving parents who balanced limited means with big dreams for their children. Mr. Kumar excelled academically through hard work, grit, and a natural resourcefulness — character traits he attributes both to his father, who as a child would swim three miles in rainy days and walk five miles just to attend school, and to his mother, who taught him to treat others with the same respect that he expects from them.

Outside of work, he and his spouse of 21 years, Dr. Rashmi Singh, are animal lovers who have helped rescue many dogs in their community. In his free time, Mr. Kumar enjoys spending time with his son, Shashwat Singh, volunteering with garden projects in the neighborhood, doing creative woodworking and carpentry projects, practicing yoga, and golfing. He also serves as charity program director for the Center for Civil Initiatives.
